Flip Card ~ VIDEO TUTORIAL {Bo Bunny 'Star-Crossed'}

Flip card video tutorial by Gabrielle Pollacco using Bo Bunny 'Star-Crossed' collection papers and embellishments

Hi all!  So lately I've been finding myself obsessed with unique folded cards, and this one really caught my attention.  I love a card that can play tricks, and this one is so much fun!  You just have to make a couple of easy cuts into a piece of  5 1/2" x 6 1/4" paper....add a few score marks, and you get this fun card that flips and shows 2 sides as you open it!  Check out my video below to watch me put this one together!  (there is also a template with the measurements I used below) :) ....

Fun, isn't it!!  Here are a few close-ups and views of the card....

This is the card cover when it is closed. I used the adorable Bo Bunny 'Star-Crossed' collection to make up this card.  All I needed was the 6x6 paper pad and a packet of their Double Dot Jewels for the bloom centers (inside the card).

This is the inside view of the card when it is opened and the center piece has done it's flip (you have to see the video to see how the flip works...it's so cool! :)

Here is a close-up of the centerpiece of the card (the front view).  I cut out some chipboard hearts and traced them on a piece of the patterned paper from the 6x6 paper pad.  I added a coat of Diamond Stickles to give the hearts some sheer shimmer.  I also cut out a couple of the feather designs from one of the patterned papers in the Star-Crossed pad to make my corner design.

This is a close-up of the card center piece when the card is open. Oddly enough, every time I pulled out an element to add to my card, it fit perfectly.  The frame is from the Noteworthy pack that coordinates with the Star-Crossed collection, it's dimensions were perfect for the center panel!

And here (above) is a template I drew out that has all the dimensions you'll need to make your own flip card!  (in the video I accidentally put a score line down the middle, but I didn't fold it and once I had on my center panels it kept the design true).

Hope you enjoyed my tutorial and hope you'll give this card a try! I made this one for my youngest daughter, she's been making such great progress in school and other areas in her life, I wanted to make a special card just for her....and she loved it! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for all the lovely comments and feedback, they make my day! xo xo

Best Friends ~ Bo Bunny's NEW 'Rose Cafe'

So, it always used to be me behind the camera, but lately both my girls have turned into a couple of shutter-bugs.  My youngest daughter took this photo of my oldest daughter Chloe and one of her BFF's.  Loving that I have so many fun photos to work with now (thanks Meggy!...and Chloe!).  Another exciting thing is that I finally got to start playing with some of the beautiful goodies sent to me by Bo Bunny, love this new 'Rose Cafe' collection!

For my corner accent, I did a little bit of inking with some Tim Holtz 'Victorian Velvet' distress ink, then I stamped over the area with some classic Bo Bunny Stamps (It is Written, and Distress Textures Stamps....as well as one of my word stamps 'Beautiful' done in my own hand writing). I also did a bit of fussy cutting (floral designs) and used some of Bo Bunny's Kraft wood Flourish accents, buttons and Noteworthy die cut pieces to finish off  the corner design.

I used some of the coordinating chipboard accents and die cuts from the Noteworthy package to make the banner and background design.  The fabric blooms are a gift sent to me by Lucy from Tresors de Luxe, I thought they were such a nice match to the colors in this collection. (thanks Lucy!) xo

I used one of the smaller stickable stencils from Bo Bunny with some Texture paste to add a textural element to the page.  I added some lace trim, cheesecloth and some Frosting Pearl Flourishes by Bo Bunny in the side panels.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, your sweet comments and feedback just make my day! xo

So Sweet {Dusty Attic & Maja Design}

Hi all, today I have another page to share with you using Maja Design papers and Dusty Attic Chipboard (as well as a few lovely page accents sent to me from Lucy at Tresors de Luxe).  As I was scrapping this recent photo of my youngest daughter, I was struck by how much she's grown up.  I can't believe she is a teenager now (turned 13 over the summer).  I miss her being my baby girl, but I also have enjoyed every stage of her life, this girl cracks me up with her funny sense of humour and quirky style. For this page I used a modge podge of Maja Design papers.  I more often than not combine a variety of Maja papers, coordinating them by color rather than collection name.

So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_04 I used a variety of scraps in neutral tones and greens to make my rolled paper accents.  I rolled up the scraps and then bound them with some twine.  I added a fun l'il door hook on the side of my paper from Ingvild Bolme's Junkyard Findings.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_05

I used a variety of Dusty Attic chipboard as part of my page design, including a Skeleton Clock Frame, Foliage, and the 'So Sweet' title.  For the frame I first painted the pieces with some white Gesso.  Then I randomly dabbed on some 'Broken China' and 'Peeled Paint' Tim Holtz Distress Ink.  I did a little edging with Ingvild Bolme's 'Branch Bark' Chalk Ink.  Then I added a coat of Inksenttials Crackle Medium.  When it was dry  and crackled I dabbed on some 'Walnut Stain' Distress ink so that it got in the little cracks and whipped off the excess ink.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_03

I used the 11th of March-bs paper as the green background frame for my page and as the main background paper I used the backside of 'Flannel Shirt' paper from 'Walking in the Forest Collection'....this is one of my favorite papers to use as a nice neutral background, especially when I do some mixed media on the page as I did here.  I used a bit of Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress ink pads on the page and added some texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafter's Workshop Stencil called 'Mini Damask'.  The butterfly is an image that I printed on a piece of transparency and cut out.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_06

I wanted to keep my blossoms soft and clean, so I went with a burlap bloom from Petaloo and two white blossoms from Dusty Attic Designs.  The small sugared dots are from Prima.

  So Sweet_Sig_Layout_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_08

The strip of lace I used on the bottom of the page and the natural floral cluster (just above the title) are both from Tresors de Luxe.  I had a little fun with the title.  First I gave it a coat of brown chalk ink 'Knotted Wood' by Ingvild Bolme, then I used some 'Waterfall' Stickles in the center of my alpha's.  After it all dried I gave the whole thing a coat of gloss medium with some Glossy Accents.

VIDEO TUTORIAL: Making a Fun/Easy Watercolor Card {Dusty Attic & Shimmerz Paints}

Hello friends!  Gabrielle here with you today!  I have a fun and easy little card tutorial to share with you all today.  It's the weekend and I wanted to have a little fun playing with some of my Shimmerz Paint products, and some of my Dusty Attic chipboard.  So I gather up a few supplies, some watercolor paper and got playing!

Here is a quick l'il video tutorial I made up to show how I put it together!  (Note:....my lighting is bright when I film so the card appears softer in color in the video...above is the actual colors)  Enjoy!

Here are a couple of close-ups of the card design:

I used some old stash for this card, some Prima Hydrangea blooms I had from an old kit.  I also used Martha Stewart leaf punch for the green leaves (just punched from cardstock and given a bit of a wrinkle.

I used one of my stamp designs, the Dandelion, as my center piece.  I used some white embossing powder with it....I would recommend not to press as hard as I did for this card as I feel I lost a lot of my detailing because of this :)

Dusty Attic Chipboard:  Filigree Frame

Scrapping Greens & Neutrals {Maja Design & Dusty Attic}

Hi all!  I recently got a whole bunch of photos of my adorable little great-nieces from their sweet mom Danielle.  Lots of pretty autumn photos, so I decided to scrap them using a variety of Maja design collection papers and some NEW Dusty Attic chipboard designs.  Green has always been one of my favorite colors to scrap, but lately I've been scrapping a lot of pinks and purples.  I thought it was high time to play with some of my old favorite green toned papers mixed with some soothing neutrals.

  Just Saying_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_closeup_04

I love the warm green in the Ska vi ta en Fika collection, so I used one as my backdrop for my layout design.  I then chose one of the neutral papers from the same collection for my next layer.  I wanted to play a bit with the side edges so I chose to use a chipboard Zipper design From Dusty Attic, moistened the sides of the papers and pulled back the paper in the center, creating small pleats.  I then attached the zipper chipboard pieces (painted with some Bronze 3D paint (Scribbles) and glued it behind the edges of the paper.  The title and the number chippies are from Dusty Attic as well.

Just Saying_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_closeup_01

There are some tag images in the Walking in the forest collection, so I cut these out to used along the top of the photo as a page accent and a place to put a little journaling.  I also cut another tag out of a Coffee In the Arbour paper and stamped one of my Signature Word stamps 'fabulous' that I recently released. These are all words I like to use on my scrapbook pages, done in my own handwriting.  (My word stamps can be found at The Scrapbook Diaries, along with all my other stamp designs).  The title is from a new collection of hash tag words from Dusty Attic :)

  Just Saying_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_closeup_02
I wanted to keep the page accents naturalistic so I chose a new Dusty Attic chipboard piece called Wildflowers #3 to add alongside my photo of my two little great nieces.

Just Saying_Gabrielle_Pollacco_Maja_Design_closeup_03

And finally in the corner of the photo I accented with a few blooms from a tin of flowers from Recollections.  I did a bit of background stamping as well with some green Moss Lawn color from Ingvild Bolme.

Maja Design Products used in this project:
Ska vi ta en Fika? (Smulpaj m Applen, Havrerujor, Pratstund), Walking in the Forest (Klippark, Flannel Shirt), Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI), Vintage Frost Basics (Days of December), Coffee in the Arbour (Feel the Grass Between Your Toes). Thanks so much for stopping by the Maja blog today!  Hope you get a chance to play today! xo
