Mixed Media with Websters Pages! {VIDEO TUTORIAL}

I thought today I would have some mixed media fun using the new Websters Pages collection called New Year New You.  I tore pieces of the patterned paper to create a unique background and used some Faber Castelle Gelatos to tint/paint the background as well.  Just click below to watch a video tutorial on the making of this canvas (I must appologize in advance, I taped this video myself ....usually I have my daughter doing the filming, and I can't tell pause from play!  so I ended up missing a couple of steps that I wanted to show, namely cutting out the patterned pieces for the bird!)  I've shown some fun techniqes including using hot glue as a page embellishment! ....

I hope you enjoyed my little video and found some things you can incorporate into your mixed media designs!  Here are a couple of close up shots of the page as well as a template for the bird I drew out for the canvas. (I know not everyone is comfortable with sketching out a design, so enjoy!)

Just right click on the photo and 'save picture as' to your computer.  You can then print out the bird design and cut out as shown in my video.

I've given a supply list at the end of the video, if  I've missed anything or you have any questions, I'm always happy to answer them! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today! xo

Thank you so very much for your tute on creating this canvas.. I was watching and my daughter came and watched it too and she loved it and said how beautiful it is.. I was amazed at how the texture of the hot glue made a very realistic tree and the little touches with the black and white pens made the end result so wonderful.. and then you give us a template of your bird, how generous.. thanks again.. I love your canvas..
