Working with my NEW Webster's Pages 'Park Drive' Collection

Hi everyone!  I know, it's been quiet here at my blog for the last week!  We just took ourselves a little summer vacation up at my dear brother's cottage and had ourselves some nice relax time with the family.  But just before we went away I got some happy mail, some of the newest Webster's Pages collections!  Here I used the NEW 'Parkdrive' collection to make up these two layouts.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this paper collection!  It has all the beautiful botanical designs I've come to love about Websters Pages designs, and the color combinations in this collection just lift me up!
I received a bunch of the new Fabric Trims as well as the new Perfect Accents (Cameo's) as well....I'm always excited to see what cameo's have come out to match the new collections.  The camoe's for this collection are adorable!
I added a bit of painted and stamped design to this page using some water and mica powder (Perfect Pearls).  I just took a pain brush dipped it in some water, then the mica powders and brushed them onto the page.  I then stamped with the Diamond Tag stamp from Websters just around the edges of where I was placeing the photo.  I also used a white-out pen to add some dots in the darker area's of the design to give the page some whimsy.

There are also some fun new Transparency sheets for the new collections.  There is a really cute transparency ticket sheet with little accent words.  I used one of them combined with the alpha stickers to create my title.
The beauty of the Parkdrive collection is that you can go for a variety of looks to your layouts.  For the top layout I went with a bit more of an 'artsy' look using paper distressors and painted finishes.  But if clean fresh colors and designs are more your style, there are papers in this collection that work beautifully for that style.  In the above layout I scrapped some pic's of my youngest daughter playing crockette up at my parents place.  I was drawn to the apple greens and the gingham design.  I combined it with the soft preety pinks and added some of my favourite Websters Bloomers in the pink shade to embellish the page.
Along with using some more of the sweet new WP Cameo's (BTW, they are mounted on those amazing Dusty Attic Cameo Sliders chipboard pieces)....I used some of the adorable new Charm Accents from Websters Pages.  Above is a close-up of the green rhinestone & butterfly charm.
So where can you get all these new goodies?  Well if your local store didn't order them in (they are shipping out soon to the retailers)....you can order directly from the Websters Pages Website!  Just for your convenience I've linked many of the new products I've mentioned here to the Websters Pages site, just click on the pink hi-lighted words for a quick connect.
Well, the summer break is already half done, and I've got so much more I want to do with the kids!  It all goes too fast doesn't it!  But for now, I'm pulling my camera card to get some of those cottage pic's developed so I can get scrapping again!  Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Still In Love with Webster's Pages "In Love"!

Here's is another layout I've been working on in a series of pages I've been making as a gift for nephew and his bride.....more with their engagement photos (and I still have some beautiful wedding photos I want to scrap!).  I used some more of my "In Love" collection from Websters Pages to make up this page.
Supplies:
Patterned Paper: Websters Pages "In Love"
Alphabet Stickers: Websters Pages "In Love"
Fabric Tape: Websters Pages "In Love"
Stamp:  Diamond Tag Stamp (Websters Pages/Unity Stamps)
Chipboard Frame: Dusty Attic
Paper Flowers: Fussy cut from In Love papers, & Recollections
Border Punch:  Martha Stewart

The circle frame I used in this layout is an old favourite of mine from Dusty Attic called Decorative Scroll #1, this one comes in 2 layers but for this layout I used only the top layer because I wanted to keep it more delicate.

Well, off to scrap some more, I've got a day planned with the kiddies tomorrow!  How is everyone's summer going so far?

Playing with Some Older Websters Pages Goodies!

Each month Websters Pages has a Guest Designer and the design team is asked if they have time) to do a layout that is inspired by that persons body of work.  This months guest designer is the talented Lady Grace, if you are not familiar with her lovely work you can check it out on the Websters Pages main page this month.  I liked the way she used hearts as accents on her work so I incorporated some cut paper heart accents on my layout....I also picked up the horizontal page design she used on one of her layouts.   What was really fun for me was that with all the new collections coming out at the summer CHA, I wanted to go back and play with some older collections I still have in my stash.  For this page I used some Ladies and Gents (the blue background paper), and some Garden Gala (the fussy cut blooms).  Plus I used some of my Websters Pages Bloomers (pink floral trim) and Lace trim as well as the Perfect Accents (Cameos).  Here are some close-ups...

I used one of my all time favourite Dusty Attic chippies on this page as well, the Skelleton Clock Frames.  I just painted it white and brushed with some brown chalk ink.  Added some pink gem stones on the hour spots.
Talking about CHA, how much fun is it seeing all the sneak peeks of all the newest goodies coming out?!  I just wanted to take a second to share with you some unique and beautiful accents Brandin (Owner & Designer of Websters Pages) has come out with to coordinate with the new collections!  Check out these cute 'Story Markers', beautiful charms attached to a strip of velvet! Perfect for those journals and cards...and I can see using them on layouts as well!

And if it's the charms themselves that really grab your attention, you can get them seperately as well! Check this out!...
As cute as those little Lolipop blooms were that came out with the past Websters Pages collections were, I'm really excited to see these new blooms that have come out to coordinate with the newest collecitons!  You can find all these goodies online at Websters Pages Website (I've heard that the online store will be up and running soon for the newest collections!) ....or better yet, be sure to let your local scrap store know if you are interested in getting in these products! (I know in my area, the local store owners are always asking the opinion of the customers as to what product they would like brought in!)

So what are some of your favourite things that you've seen coming out at CHA?  I'll admit I haven't had a lot of time for browsing yet so share!  I'd love to hear what is catching your interest! xx

Dusty Attic ATC ~ And Reminder of the Live Chat with me Tonight!

Just a quick little post today!  Last month I began doing the ATC (Artist Trading Card) challenges at Dusty Attic.  Last month the subject was 'Flight' (birdies, nests, butterflies etc).  This month it is a color challenge "Anything in the Pink to Red Spectrum".  Since I've been doing ATC's with single word inspiration on them, this month I did the word 'Love' since I associate that with this color grouping :)   I used one of the Mini Dress Form Chippies and the smallest of the Baroque Corners.  Below you can see pic's of the chip's I used....

Once I've made up 12 of the ATC's I'm going to mount them in one of the cute ATC holders that Dusty Attic makes and I'll have a nice art piece for my scraproom.  If you want to play along and give these ATC's a try be sure to post your ATC in the Dusty Attic Gallery with this information...
To enter the Monthly ATC Challenge all you need to do is include some Dusty Attic Chipboard {the new mini's are perfect for this} on your ATC and upload it to the Gallery before Midnight the 30th of July (Australian Perth Time)
Make sure you include July_2012_ATC written like this in the Tags with the underscore between each word or “July 2012 ATC”in inverted comma’s when you upload to the gallery to be in the running for a Dusty Attic prize pack of Dusty Mini's.  You can find more information on the July ATC Challenge HERE
Before I close I just want to remind anyone who wants to join in a LIVE CHAT with me at Swirlydoo's, that we are going live in about an hour ( 7:00 PM EST July 16th ) ...So if you've got questions for me or just want to shoot the breeze, come along and join us!

I Love Me Some Dusty Attic! :)

Here is another layout I've been working on that I'm having framed for a series of engagement photos that I'm giving as a gift to my nephew and his new bride.  I really loved this photo of them taken by this old rusted out pick-up truck.  I wanted the page to have a bunch of distressed aged elements so I use a bunch of my Dusty Attic chippies and gave them a weathered look.  For this layout I used The Fancy Flourish #2 and the Mini Cogs (which I gave the Verdigris finish found in my tutorials at the right side of the blog), the Baroque Corner and ATC Frames Set #1 (which I finished by painted with Gesso and then adding some dimensional silver Perfect Pearls to give a 3D look) as well as the Mini Hour Glass (which I finished by first painting white, adding some bronze and aqua paint and used a little glue in glass area and applied real sand).  Here are some close-up shots of my page....
I thought the zipper design would be a nice addition to this page as well.  I actually snipped this zipper out of an old pair of pants :)

The papers and blooms I used for this page are all Prima (from the Almanac collection).  I thought they had that nice aged look to them and the soft pinkish tones matched the rusted colors in the old pick-up truck.  I used some little torn bits of book paper to add more of a tattered look to the layout a well.  (Look for old books at thrift stores, I picked mine up for pennies!  They come in really handy for scrapping!)

Before I sign out today I just want to remind you all that I'll be doing a Live Chat over at Swirlydoo's on Monday night (July 16th) at 7:00 EST ....hope you come and join me....and get your questions ready, I'm happy to answer if I can!  .....hopefully I won't be sitting there with the crickets! lol!

Handmade Flower Challenge with Bo Bunny! ...AND an invite to chat with me!

So the challenge today over at Bo Bunny blog was for the design team girls to make a card with handmade flowers....ha! a challenge after my own heart! :)   For the above card I used the Welcome Home collection papers, mixed with a little bit of Et Cetera (I love the music note paper!)  The butterflies are from the Country Garden collection.  Here is a close-up peek of the blooms...
HOW TO:  I made the blooms using some plain book paper (literally paper I tore from an old book I bought at the thrift store for a few pennies!). I just gave the paper a light spritz with some Tim Holtz Pink Sherbert Alcohol ink.  I then used the EK Success Retro Flower punch (small) to punch out a few flower shapes.  I then used a jaggedy edged deco scissor on the ends of the petals to get that tattered look that carnations have.  I strung 3 of them on a floral wire (crinkled the petals up a bit and adhered them together with some glue).  A very simple floral design for your cards or layouts!  (Here I also adde some little bud twigs that I bought in a cluster at Michaels at 60% off!)
Do you like making your own floral embellishments?  If you do, take the Bo Bunny challenge and create a card with your handmade flowers and post them at this link Bo Bunny Handmade Floral Card Challenge and you can have a chance at a fun Bo Bunny prize!

One more thing before I close today.....Have you ever wanted to have a live chat with me?  Questions you've always wanted to ask?  Here is your opportunity!  I'm guest designer over at Swirlydoo's kit club this month and they have arranged a live chat with me at their site.  It's scheduled for next Monday 16th at 7:00 pm EST.  Once I have a link from them I will share it with you all here.  I hope to get a chance to chat with you all, so mark the date! :)

Welcome to Swirlydoos' July Kit Reveal Blog Hop Block Party!!

If you came here from Angelica's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there. We have some amazing projects for you to see!!

So I was asked to be the Guest Designer this month over at Swirlydoo's and I have to say I was just so thrilled and happy to say YES!! Krissy Mossbarger (Owner of Swirlydoo's) is a dear old friend of mine from my early days at Scrapbook.com. We were together in a COF (Circle of Friends) group with a bunch of really wonderful and talented girls. We shared our projects, challenged each other and shared our daily lives, supporting each other along the way. Krissy had asked me when she started up Swirlydoo's to be on her design team but unfortunately I was on another kit club team at the time so I couldn't join up with her. So when I was recently asked to do a guest spot for Swirlydoo's I was so happy to finally give her a great big YES! I love Krissy's taste in product and I have to say it was such a pleasure working with the July kit!! The papers are GORGEOUS! The embellishments, so beautiful! And I love this month's Technique kit!! It's got this wonderful air dry clay in it! I used it in the above layout, I just rolled out a few strands of the clay and winded it together, then added some 'bark' patterns with the tip of a knife, I gave the white clay a light sweep with some watered down brown acrylic paint. Here is a close-up...
There are some beautiful Dusty Attic Fountains in this kit as well, they are just a perfect match for the lovely patterned papers in the kit!  Here I just gave the chippie a light coat of white paint, rubbed a little of the brown chalk ink (also in the kit) on it and added some dots of Perfect Pearls in Silver.
Above is another layout I made with this gorgeous kit!  Krissy has a knack of putting together papers from different collections and having them work beautifully with each other!  I've been working on a series of l/o's I'm making for my nephew and his new wife, this is a second one I've made with one of their engagement photos.  I love the cute Prima fountain in the kit with the little birdies, I just draped some green tinted clay hanging from the fountain to give a mossy effect.  I also used the clay to make the 3 little eggs in the Dusty Attic Nest I added to the page, I just left them white and added some light blue paint and added a few dots with a brown pen.  Here are some close-up pic's of the page...
I made a third layout using the kit goodies and again I used the clay to add to the embellishments...
I made the heart embellishments as well as the lily flowers from the air dry clay.  I posted a little step by step on how I made the heart embellishments over at Swirlydoo's ...you can find it HERE
When I saw the cute package of tassels in the kit, I new I had to do this zipper idea I saw on a tag on Pinterest (but for the life of me I can't find it on my pin boards again to link you....when I find it I'll link it up :)  ...I used a 25 cent zipper I had in my stash to make this one, but I did make another page where I literally cut out the zipper from an old pair of jeans lol! (this will be pubbed in an upcoming issue of Scrap365)
......and I have just one more little project to share with you that I made from this lovely kit!...
I couldn't resist making this little jewellery box for one of my daughters using the papers and the clay in this months kits.  I bought the box from our local Dollar store and covered the top with the quilted design I used on the hearts.  The bloom was simply made with some pink tinted clay, I just ruffled the edges a bit and used an embossing tool to put some light lines in the petals.  Here is a close-up of the bloom...

So now that you've seen my projects with this beautiful kit, be sure to hop along and see the work of the other talented ladies on this team, you will NOT be disappointed!  Here are some of the deet's if you'd like to have the chance to win some goodies along the way....
